HISAKA Glossary (for Heat Exchangers)

This is a glossary of terms that are found in
drawings and catalogs when using your HISAKA product.

C
C. frame Intermediate frame
Frame used when performing two or more types of heat exchange with one heat exchanger.
When a nozzle is installed, fluid can flow in/out from this frame.

C. nozzle Nozzle installed on the C. frame Click here for details
Channel gaskets Gaskets installed to the front surfaces of heat transfer plates except for the D-Plate.
Channel plates Heat transfer plates except for the D-Plate and E-Plate between the S, L, C, and E-Frames.
Companion flange Flange that pairs with the nozzle on the heat exchanger
Contact point Plate support points when stacking heat transfer plates (points where the plates come into contact with each other)
Corrugated pattern One of the wavy forms for heat transfer plates. This parallel wave pattern has few contact points between heat transfer plates, and allows even fluids with fiber or sludge content to flow easily without blockage.

Cotter A part that is sandwiched between the E. frame and the upper guide bar (large models only) to prevent the E. frame from slipping out of a place while the equipment is being transported
* Remove the cotter after installing and before operating the equipment.
