TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Fluid can't be flowed.
  • Leakage from ball seat.
  • Leakage from body gasket.
  • Leakage from gland packing.
  • Valve can't be operated.(Manual/On-Off valve)
  • Valve can't be operated.(On-Off Valve)
  • Solenoid valve can't be operated correctly.
  • Limit switch can't be operated correctly.
  • Proximity sensor can't be operated correctly.

Fluid can't be flowed.

Cause
The valve is piped together with the dust seal.
Measurement

Please remove the valve from pipe and install in pipe after removed the dust seal from the valve.

Leakage from ball seat.

Cause
The ball seat is damaged by foreign object.
Measurement

Please replace ball seats, washing, flashing and install the valve.

Cause
The ball seat is transforming because of used by half open position(in case of soft seat ball valve).
Measurement

Please replace ball seats.
Note: It must not be used a soft seat ball valve by half open position, because it causes the ball seat transformation.

Cause
The ball seat is transfomed by themal expansion inside cavity of valve.
Measurement

1. Please replace the ball seat and countermeasure thermal expansion inside cavity problem.
2. Please replace to the 1-way valve or the trunnion type ball valve.

Cause
The ball seat is transformed by abnormal increasing pressure in the piping.
Measurement

Please countermeasure at system side, because this case can’t solve at valve side.

Cause
1-way direction valve is installed on piping with wrong direction.
Measurement

Please install in the correct direction after confirmed the pressurized direction of when valve is closed.

Cause
Mis-selection for material of ball seat.
Measurement

1. Please reconfirm the operation condition.
2. Please replace ball seat or ball valve.

Leakage from body gasket.

Cause
Looseness of the fitting flange’s stud bolt & nut
Measurement

Please increase of tightening bolts by diagonal turns and equal torque.

Cause
Looseness of the fitting flange’s stud bolt & nut by the piping-stress
Measurement

Please install the piping-support so that piping-stress is not affected, and increase of tightening bolts by diagonal turns and equal torque.

Cause
The body gasket is damaged by thermal expansion inside cavity.
Measurement

1.Please replace body gasket and countermeasure thermal expansion inside cavity problem.

2.Please replace to the 1-way valve or the trunnion type ball valve.

Leakage from gland packing.

Cause
Looseness of the gland bolt.
Measurement

Please increase of tightening bolts by diagonal turns and equal torque.

Cause
The gland packing wears away.
Measurement

Please replace the gland packing

Cause
Leakage by thernal expansion inside cavity.
Measurement

1.Please increase of tightening bolts by diagonal turns and equal torque, and countermeasure thermal expansion inside cavity.(if the gland packing lose the sealing, please replace to new one.)
2. Please replace to the 1-way valve or the trunnion type ball valve.

Cause
Transformation of the gland packing by heat cycle
Measurement

Please recheck the material of gland packing and replace it.
Please replace the valve that have a gland O-Ring.

Valve can't be operated.(Manual/On-Off valve)

Cause
Foreign object into valve body.
Measurement

Please replace ball seats, and do the flushing for cleaning.

Cause
Ball seat wears away hardly.
Measurement

1. Please replace the ball seats. (if it is a necessity, please replace the ball also.)
2. Please change to the metal seats ball valve.

Cause
Powder material has been compressed & cristalized.

1. Please wash & flush inside body, periodicity.
2. Please replace ball seat.(depends on neccesity to replace ball also).
3. Please recheck the sizing torque of actuator.

Valve can't be operated.(On-Off Valve)

Shortaged supply pressure/air volume for operation.

Please secure the pressure according to neccesity(Please install air tank according to neccesity.)
