Steelmaking

Process overview
There are many cooling applications in the various processes of steel production. HISAKA heat exchangers are used for many applications, such as cooling blast furnaces.

Ironmaking Process

This process removes pig iron from iron ore, coal, etc. through three processes: "sintering", "coke", and "blast furnace". HISAKA jumbo heat exchangers play a major role in the blast furnace process, as a cooler for the furnace body.

Steelmaking Process

This process removes residual impurities from pig iron and adjusts the chemical composition of steel. HISAKA heat exchangers are used in various applications, such as tundish roll cooling.

Rolling Process

In the rolling process, a rolling machine is used to roll metals into long continuous strips and then wind them into coils. HISAKA heat exchangers are used in each cooling process, including tandem hydraulic oil cooling.

Plating Process

In this process, surfaces are plated to improve the corrosion resistance of the steel sheets. HISAKA heat exchangers are used in zinc, tin, chrome, and nickel plating lines.

COG

COG (Coke Oven Gas) can be obtained from coke ovens that are used to steam coal. COG is reused as fuel. However, sulfur, ammonia, light oil, and other active components in the gas are included as impurities.
